Driving with Your Dog

Whether you're heading to the veterinarian's office or going for a road trip, there's going to be a time when you need to drive with your dog in the car. Here are some useful tips to stay safe on the road.

While dogs love to stick their head out the window, you should only open the window enough for some ventilation. With their head completely out of the window, your dog is at risk of getting hit by road debris. Not only that, but they may get fine dust in their eyes or experience respiratory issues from the rush of air. Your dog should be properly contained at all times. The best way to do this is to use a crate. If you have a larger dog, you can also use a harness with a seat belt attachment.

Come on down to Genesis of Cumming for more information. We'll be happy to answer your questions about safe driving. We can also help you find a pet-friendly vehicle that you can test drive at our showroom in Cumming, GA.
